Some stories are written to entertain. Others are written because something within the writer refuses to remain unheard. For Ritu Jarwal, writing has become a way of exploring emotions, confronting fears and turning life’s complexities into stories that connect with readers.
A writer and entrepreneur from Gurgaon, Ritu’s journey has been shaped by curiosity, courage and the willingness to take a different path. After completing her Bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication from Delhi University and later pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration from Subharti University, she began exploring storytelling during her college years through short stories and creative writing.
Her professional journey took her through the world of media, where she worked as a Media Head. But eventually, she chose to step away from her job and follow her entrepreneurial ambitions, starting her own venture while also contributing to her father’s manufacturing business. It was a decision that demanded confidence and the courage to embrace uncertainty.
That same courage became the foundation of her debut novel, Veerangarh (Where Silence Screams).
Inspired by a simple yet powerful belief—that fear exists within all of us, but life truly begins when we learn to overcome it—the novel explores fear, emotions and the strength required to confront what holds us back. Bringing the story to life was not an easy journey. The manuscript went through multiple rewrites before Ritu felt it had become the story she wanted to share with the world.
The response was remarkable. Within just a few months of its release, Veerangarh crossed 1,000+ copies sold, earning appreciation from readers, particularly the younger generation. For Ritu, however, the greatest reward has been seeing her words create a genuine connection with people.
Her journey received another significant recognition when she was honored with the Udaan Excellency Award 2026 – Best Debut Author.
Today, Ritu continues to balance her entrepreneurial journey with her passion for literature. She hopes to create stories that do more than entertain—stories that make readers feel, reflect and find the courage to embrace their own journey.
As she puts it:
“Be yourself and accept every phase of life, whether it is good or bad.”
For Ritu Jarwal, every story is another opportunity to turn fear into courage—and words into inspiration.
